This Alternative/Funk rock band first got their start in 1991 when they signed to Epic Records/Sony Music. The band consists of Chris Barron (Lead Vocals), Eric Schenkman (Guitar, Back-up Vocals), Mark White (Bass), and Aaron Comess (Drums). In August 1992, Spin Doctors released their first studio album Pocket Full of Kryptonite. The album was mostly ignored until they went on tour. During the summer of 1992, more people started to hear them as MTV started to play the songs "Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" which lead to their album hitting triple platinum in the next year. The album even hit #3 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart. They released their second album, Turn It Upside Down, in June of 1994. During a show during their tour to support Turn It Upside Down, Eric Schenkman walked offstage announcing that he was leaving. They replaced him with Anthony Krizan. The band released their next album You've Got To Believe In Something in May of 1996. They started touring some more and had Ivan Neville join the band as the keyboardist. Later in 1996, Anthony Krizan left the band and was replaced by Eran Tabib. You've Got To Believe In Something did nowhere near as well as their previous two and they were dropped by Epic Records.
They signed to Uptown and began working on their next album. During the recording, Mark White left the band and Aaron Comess finished all of the bass tracks for the rest of the album. released Here Comes The Bride in 1999. Chris Barron lost his voice in the midst of a tour due to vocal paralysis and the band was broken up until 2001 when they got the original four band members together to play a show. They ended up playing more shows until 2005 when they released a new album, Nice Talking To Me. The record got good reviews but they could not follow its success as their record company went out of business.
